Pastor
The Rev. David Williamson joined us as Hawker Church’s pastor in October 2017. He’s a graduate of Hofstra, American, and Yale Universities, and previously served churches in upstate New York, central Connecticut, and western Pennsylvania. Born and raised in New York City, he’s a former Army chaplain now serving as the President of the Ohio Federation of Fire Chaplains. Pastor Dave’s a past grand chaplain of the Masonic grand lodges of New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, and a recipient of the 33rd Degree. He’s been married for over 30 years to the Rev. Julia Williamson, also a United Church of Christ minister, who’s serving as pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church in Huber Heights.
Associate Pastor
Bob Gambrell is our licensed associate pastor. He’s a 2020 graduate of the United Church of Christ’s Southwest Ohio Northern Kentucky Association (SONKA) lay ministry program. A native of nearby Hamilton and a graduate of Taft High School, Bob served in the Air Force for 10 years, and then went on to a career servicing the electronics in Pepsi-Cola. He’s a former president of the church board, the founder and former leader of the Presidents’ Club, and sings in the choir. He has been married for thirty plus years to his wife, Shirley.
Music Minister
Danny Voris has been our Minister of Music since 2007. Danny grew up in Hawker Church and began studying the guitar at the age of 14 and has earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Wright State University and a Master’s Degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Akron. He teaches guitar at Sinclair Community College, where he directs the Sinclair Classical Guitar Ensemble.
Organist/Pianist
Joseph Saksa is our organist and pianist. He is the former organist and pianist at Harmony Creek U.C.C. in Kettering, Lagonda/Faith United Methodist Church in Springfield, Highlands U.C.C. in Springfield, and he records the music each week for Trinity U.C.C. in Fairborn. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Music degree.
Secretary
Our church secretary is Heather Pack. She is a graduate of Wright State University and served as a Licensed Social Worker for over 15 years. She has been married for 12 plus years and has two beautiful daughters.
Custodian
Our custodian is Dick Yinger. He’s held a number of jobs in the Miami Valley prior to joining the staff at Hawker Church in 2015. He’s a leader in Boy Scout Troop 42 and is very active in the Dayton Darting Association.
